Abstract
Multiple-Valued Logic is advantageous in reducing on-chip interconnections, which is a serious challenge in nanometer-scale electronics. New ternary blocks are proposed in this paper with the aim of reaching high efficiency and reducing transistor count. Unique characteristics of carbon nanotube field effect transistors provide multi-Vt circuitry with the flexibility which is highly essential for ternary designs. All presented structures are simulated in various conditions by using Synopsys HSPICE and 32 nm CNTFET-based SPICE Model. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed designs in terms of performance efficiencies. They are applicable in low-voltage, low-power applications. Supplementary simulations are also performed to investigate PVT variations effects.
