Abstract

The  following  article  presents  research  results  and performance analysis of Priority Queuing System (PQS) that are supporting the Quality of Service (QoS). Priority queuing models supporting  three  traffic  classes  (high,  medium  and  low  priority ( in 5-3-1 architecture were designed and tested. The performance assessment  of  the  tested  system  was  carried  out  using  temporal  Petri  nets.  The  use  of  simulation  tools  in  the  form  of  Petri  Nets) PN) allowed for the evaluation and verification of waiting times, queuing mechanisms and traffic intensity using the queuing algorithm.  It  was  shown  that  temporal  models  of  Petri  nets  can  be  effectively  used  in  modeling  and  analysis  of  the  performance of priority queuing systems.
